Saving Items

Multiforum provides several ways to save and organize content for later access.

Collections

Collections let you organize content into custom groups.

Collection Types

Creating Collections

  1. Click your profile menu
  2. Select Collections
  3. Click Create Collection
  4. Fill in:
    • Name: Collection name
    • Description: What it's for
    • Type: What kind of items
    • Visibility: Public or Private
  5. Click Create

Adding to Collections

From the action menu:

  1. Click the action menu on content
  2. Select Add to Collection
  3. Choose a collection
  4. Click Add

From the content page:

  1. Look for the bookmark/save icon
  2. Click it to add to your default favorites
  3. Or select a specific collection

Collection Visibility

Managing Collections

Viewing your collections:

  1. Go to your profile
  2. Click Collections
  3. Browse your collections

Editing a collection:

  1. Open the collection
  2. Click Edit
  3. Change name, description, or visibility
  4. Save

Reordering items:

  1. Open the collection
  2. Drag items to reorder
  3. Changes save automatically

Removing items:

  1. Open the collection
  2. Click the remove icon on an item
  3. Confirm removal

Deleting a collection:

  1. Open the collection
  2. Click Delete Collection
  3. Confirm

Favorites

Favorites are quick-access default collections.

Default Favorites

You have built-in favorites for:

  • Discussions
  • Comments
  • Downloads
  • Images
  • Channels

Adding to Favorites

  1. Click the favorite/heart icon on content
  2. It's added to your appropriate favorites collection
  3. Access from your profile

Viewing Favorites

  1. Go to your profile
  2. Click Favorites
  3. Select the type (discussions, comments, etc.)

Bookmarks

Bookmarks are a quick way to save individual items.

Bookmarking Content

  1. Find the bookmark icon on any content
  2. Click to toggle bookmark status
  3. Bookmarked items appear in your collections

Viewing Bookmarks

Bookmarks appear in your relevant favorites collection or can be viewed separately in some views.

Sharing Collections

Making Collections Public

  1. Edit your collection
  2. Set visibility to Public
  3. Save

Sharing a Collection

  1. Open a public collection
  2. Copy the collection URL
  3. Share with others

Sharing in Discussions

You can share a collection within a discussion:

  1. Create or edit a discussion
  2. Use the share collection feature
  3. The collection is linked in your post

Finding Saved Content

Quick Access

  • Profile menu → Collections
  • Profile menu → Favorites
  • Profile → Collections tab

Searching Saved Items

Within a collection:

  1. Open the collection
  2. Use the search/filter if available
  3. Browse items
