Opening Issues

Issues are central to Multiforum's moderation system. They provide audit trails, enable discussion among moderators, and ensure transparency.

What is an Issue?

  • Tracks reported or problematic content
  • Records moderation actions taken

Best Practices

Writing Good Issue Titles

Good:

  • "Spam account posting promotional content"
  • "Harassment in discussion #456"
  • "Repeated off-topic posts by user X"

Bad:

  • "Bad post"
  • "Problem"
  • "User issue"

Writing Good Issue Descriptions

Include:

  • Specific examples with links
  • Relevant rule or policy
  • Impact of the behavior
  • Suggested resolution

Keeping Issues Organized

  • Close resolved issues promptly
  • Use clear, searchable titles
  • Link related issues
  • Tag appropriately

Transparency

Remember that affected users may see:

  • The issue exists
  • Why action was taken
  • The resolution

Keep this in mind when writing descriptions.

Issue Notifications

Users receive notifications when:

  • They're involved in a new issue
  • An issue related to their content is updated
  • Their suspension is linked to an issue

This transparency helps users understand moderation decisions.
